The Resource Centre service is supported by a current, specialised collection of material relating to teaching and learning English as a second language, language testing, applied linguistics, materials development and evaluation and curriculum development.
Our resources are listed in the Macquarie University Library catalogue and our holdings are listed in the location field as NCELTR. An extensive serials collection of over 200 titles, and access to relevant electronic journals, ensures that information on current research is readily available.

DELTAA
The Database on English Language Teaching for Adults in Australasia contains abstracts and links to full text of books, journal articles, conference papers, book reviews, reports and multimedia materials. Produced in the Resource Centre, DELTAA is a unique and essential source of information in the field. It is available:
- Online in the Resource Centre
- Via the DELTAA page on this website.
- Via RMIT Publishing's online service - Informit. Visit www.informit.com.au to find out more.
DELTAA is updated quarterly in January, April, July and October.
The 3rd edition of the DELTAA Thesaurus of the major descriptors used in the database is now available.
Database Searches
Resource Centre staff will perform literature searches using a range of electronic databases for AMEP work-related topics such as education, distance learning, linguistics and multiculturalism. Access to networks allows us to locate materials in other libraries and provide comprehensive bibliographies of subject specific resources. Please complete a Database Search Request Form and include your staff details.
Journal Watch
Journal Watch is a current awareness and document delivery service. It contains photocopies of the contents pages from over 100 of the most popular journals held in the Resource Centre. Four issues of Journal Watch are produced each year, and each issue contains approximately thirty journal titles. You can identify articles which interest you, and then request photocopies of them from the Resource Centre. Journal Watch is distributed to AMES Centre principals and AMES librarians for the co-ordination of requests.
