Loy is an academic researcher with the AMEP Research Centre and is the coordinator for the longitudinal Special Project Research Program (SPRP) entitled Language training and settlement success: are they related?
Prior to joining Macquarie University, she was vice chair of the Department of English and Applied Linguistics at De La Salle University in Manila and director for its teacher-training centre (2001-2002). She was also part of the Philippine research team that established the International Corpus of English – Philippine Component (ICE-PHI). ICE-PHI is the first mega-word corpus produced in the Philippines and is part of a multi-country project (ICE) involving 15 countries/regions in which English is spoken as a first language or as an official second language.
